Occasional Child Care

The Occasional Care program gives parents an opportunity to have some time away from their children to:
- Attend appointments
- Attend educational programs
- Go shopping
- Spend time with friends
- Spent time with their other children
- Catch up with some housework or gardening
- Just have some time out
In addition, the program enables children to socialise with other children and take part in creative and stimulating activities.
We provide care for children aged between 3 months and 6 years, for 4 hours per day.
Our child care service is licensed and complies with all relevant legislation and regulations.
Children with Special Needs
The Occasional Care program welcomes children with additional needs. Please discuss any special issues with the co-ordinator.
Bookings
A limited number of permanent bookings are available. Enquiries can be made by telephone. Conditions apply to term bookings.
- Bookings for the term must be paid for in advance.
- Refunds are not available for cancelled sessions
- Term bookings in each session are limited to three children aged under 3, and six children aged over 3
- If demand is high, the number of sessions allocated to families requiring more than one session per week may be reduced, after consolation with the parent/carer
- Children of parents/carers attending programs at the house will be given first priority
- Children will be placed on a waiting list if there are no vacancies
Enrolments
A completed enrolment for each child is required prior to their first session, and at the start of each year. Please answer all questions, and provide us with up to date immunization records for your child. If any custody or access orders apply to your child, please provide us with a copy.
What To Bring
Please pack in your child’s bag:
- A full change of clothes, and a plastic bag for soiled clothing
- Nappies, baby wipes and any creams that may be needed, or a change of underwear
- Hat and sunscreen
- A piece of fruit or a light snack
- A drink or special cup, if you prefer
Please do NOT bring sweets, biscuits, cakes, chips, soft drinks, etc. We provide water for the children to drink.
Cancellations
If your child cannot attend their allocated session, please notify our staff. Notice of cancellation is required prior to the session. Full session fees are payable.
Collection of Children
Children will only be discharged to the care of a parent or authorized person. Custody or access issues will be observed. A late fee applies for children not collected by the close of sessions. $10 per 5 minutes for the first 10 minutes & $5 thereafter.
Sun Protection Policy
All children are required to provide a hat labelled with their name. Sunscreen will be provided. Sunglasses are recommended. When UV index levels are low, the SunSmart UV Alert will say “No UV Alert” and sun protection is not required.
